AROHO A Foundation For Women Artists and Writers

November 2009 AROHO Newsletter

In the sustaining spirit of community, and in honor of our next decade of growth and inspiration, AROHO is asking creative women to Give 10 in 2010 to build The Freedom Endowment.

Give ten dollars. Give ten dollars each—you and your writing group, your family, your colleagues, together with thousands of other creative women and those who support them—and transform the flimsy and fleeting into the powerful and permanent. Alone, a $10 bill is a pair of cheap sunglasses, or a coffee shop indulgence. Joined with 9,999 others a $10 bill is a movement driven by the power of creative women, and a gift of freedom we can give to ourselves and each other.

Become a Freedom Endowment Funder, a cornerstone of the Gift of Freedom's future. Please encourage anyone and everyone who supports creative women in the arts to Give 10 in 2010.

AROHO's Winter Book Club Selection

More of This World or Maybe Another, by Barb Johnson, is a collection of award-winning stories about four outsiders whose unruly lives intersect on the back streets of New Orleans...Funny and haunting by turns, Johnson's unforgettable characters are driven by something fragile and irresistible, a sputtering drive to love and be loved. —From Harper Collins' Reading Guide.

Please join Barb, AROHO's fifth Gift of Freedom winner, as she hosts an AROHO Book Club discussion about her collection of short stories on AROHO's Facebook page. The discussion will begin Monday, January 11, 2010; simply click the DISCUSSIONS tab on the AROHO Facebook page to join in. In the meantime, become a fan of the book at the FB page More of This World or Maybe Another.

Visit AROHO's Store and send a signed copy of More of This World or Maybe Another as a gift!
